In Thursday’s cooking class, Hyden HRC residents and therapy staff combined two of their favorite loves: football and desserts. Cooking class has been a welcomed and therapeutic exercise for everyone at the facility so to mix things up, staff got the idea to make little footballs out of Rice Krispy Treats. The idea came after watching the Detroit Lions take on the New York Giants during Monday Night Football.
The delicious treats are easy to make and ideal for a football party. All all the recipe requires is melting butter in a saucepan over low heat, stir in marshmallows and mix, remove from heat, stir in the Cocoa Krispies, timely form into the shape of a football before it hardens and after it has cooled, pipe the white football lines on the treats.
